I have always been interested in the human body and what it is capable of. I came into contact with osteopathy at a younger age due to a sports injury. My physiotherapist studied osteopathy and referred me to an osteopath. That’s how I recovered from my injury. I found the holistic view he had of the body very fascinating. The interest in osteopathy was already aroused then.

After my pre-university education, I chose to first study physiotherapy in Groningen, to gain a basic understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Yet I continued to encounter the fact that I could not explain many complaints. After several jobs in physiotherapy with, among others, top athletes and children, I decided to study osteopathy. I missed the part where I could help people find the cause of their complaints. I completed my master’s degree at the International Academy of Osteopahty in Zeist.

During the training, more and more pieces of the puzzle started to fall into place. I ended up at Ilona through my internship. Through her I learned to apply my knowledge from the training more practically. I am pleased to be able to join the Laarman osteopathy team in Zwolle. Osteopathy is a wonderful profession where you can solve a new puzzle every time. Every complaint is unique and therefore deserves a personal and unique treatment.
